Sunday February 19th Clapton on the Hill walk
On a cold breezy morning Clapton on the Hill is not a place to stay long in and accordingly our party of twenty five commenced our walk at a reasonable pace and descended to more sheltered terrain at a path running alongside the Water Park to Bourton on the Water. At Bourton we stopped for a refreshment break and then returned, gently climbing uphill, to Clapton on the Hill via The Monarchs Way. An enjoyable 6.5mile walk on a lovely early Spring day. During our walk we enjoyed the strange sight of two Herons standing in a field far from water and on our journey back to Cirencester the occupants of one car were lucky to spot a Red Kite near Northleach.
